Guus Hiddink Insists Chelsea should announce new manager soon
Interim Chelsea manager Hiddink reveals that he has no problem with his employers going as soon as possible to bring in his replacement.
The Dutchman said: “I am always in favour, but its personal opinion that when things are done you make it transparent.
“It’s then clear for everyone. The speculation about this candidate or that candidate, if it’s obvious, it’s clear, then everyone can do his job at his club, and he can prepare for the upcoming time.
“I’m responsible for the daily results until the end of the season, but the club, meanwhile, is responsible for the plans for now, for next year and maybe for the year after and the year after.
“That’s why I said for me it’s not a problem to be transparent when announcing who will be the next manager.”
He added: “The example is now Manchester City. They know Pep Guardiola is coming, and there were questions, yes, but is Pellegrini losing more authority? No.
“If the manager is fair in his treatment, face-to-face with the players then there’s no loss of respect. There’s an example now with Pellegrini, at City.
“The City players they were very keen, and they were very happy, going into the next round of the Champions League.
“If there was any trouble in relation to him losing authority, then you would have seen that against Dynamo Kiev this week.”
