Klopp: ‘This will be a Huge Success for us’
Sports Gist: Jurgen Klopp claims his side will be happy for Champions League qualification this season
Sports Gist: Liverpool Manager, Jurgen Klopp admits that his side needs to achieve big dreams
Jurgen Klopp said:
“It is a little bit like this: Liverpool must always follow the biggest dreams, and when it looks like they cannot reach everything goes flat again.
“There are moments when it was difficult but we kept on going. When we lost we came back.
“We’ve come through difficult games – West Brom, Stoke, Watford. Okay we lost to Crystal Palace, but this is what I talk about when I talk of the development of the whole club.
“We are still kind of new. Not new enough that there is no expectation. We have a lot of expectation. But now is the moment to go for it.
“If it does not work we will speak about it after the season, but we have the strongest competitors around in the world.
“There are better teams in Spain or Germany, but none are as greedy as our competitors here for this kind of success. They are all fighting with everything they have.
“Doubts do not help. Bad mood, bad atmosphere, doubts from outside – it makes everything more difficult.
“Here we are in a position where everything is possible. Let’s go for it.
“I am not sure what people thought before the season. I am sure a lot thought we should win the league.
“I am sure a lot thought less than top four is not allowed, ignoring who is fighting with us for it. Now we are in this position and we want to keep it or make it better.”
“The team has no issue handling pressure,” Klopp added.
“We talk about one game and then forget five or six other games where we handled pressure really well.
“So far I haven’t seen a sign that we cannot handle pressure. I actually thought that when we had pressure we are always at our best. That is what my opinion is. Maybe not always, most of the time.
“Top four is what we set as our target for a long time. That is where we want to be. That means we will be disappointed if we cannot reach it because we are so close now.
“But four other teams will be the same. It would be fantastic for the team, for the club, for the crowd for everybody. Not reaching it would not be the end of the world.”
