Lacazette rules out arsenal move

Alexandre Lacazette has drawn a line under speculation linking with a move to Arsenal and insists he is now focused on playing for Lyon.

The French attacker was heavily linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 one side with both Arsenal and West Ham having made bids during the closed season.

Arsene Wenger has been under huge pressure to sign a striker this summer and Gonzalo Higuain and Jamie Vardy had already rejected moves to the Emirates.

And it seems a move for Lacazette is not possible after he confirmed his desire to stay in France.

‘Concerning my personal situation, I do not think there will be a departure from Lyon,’ he said after scoring both goals in Lyon’s 2-0 win over Caen.

Wenger has missed out on yet another target

‘Everything is going well here.

‘I would like to pass the bar of 100 goals in all competitions. I would like to do that at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais.’

The 25-year-old has made a good start to achieving that feat having scored five goals in his opening two matches this season.
